iAdmissions was founded to address the need for affordable college admissions resources for high school students. With a goal of providing expert, personalized guidance, iAdmissions launched its ExpertReview and ExpertCoaching programs in Fall 2009. Our experts offer constructive, objective feedback and coaching, using a knowledge base acquired through years of experience advising students and evaluating college applications.
How is iAdmissions different from other college application assistance services?
iAdmissions is unique. Each counselor on our staff has experience as a current or former admissions reader, while other services may employ undergraduates or counselors without admissions experience. Our ExpertCoaching curriculum was designed by former Stanford and Harvard admission officers. We want to help students best present themselves on admissions essays, rather than to write or rewrite their essays for them. We have a strong social mission, and provide affordable programs and generous financial aid to make our assistance available to students of all income levels. Please note: iAdmissions Honor Code is to ensure that the final essay product is that of the student only, not of the counselors nor the parents.
What are your counselors’ qualifications?
Our counselors come from a variety of backgrounds but all have experience as college admissions readers at top schools, master’s degrees in education or college counseling, and a passion for helping students succeed. You can find detailed bios of our counselors on our website.
I’ve already shown my draft to my English teacher, college counselor, parents, and friends. Would it still be useful for me to enroll for ExpertReview?
Yes, absolutely! It is wise to get feedback from people who know you on how well your essay represents you. It is also wise to get feedback from someone who does not know you to see how your essay might strike an admissions officer. Our experts will offer objective, candid feedback from this perspective. Our experts will review your essays as if they are reviewing them in an actual admission committee. More importantly, our experts offer the unique perspectives of admissions decision-makers.
Do you have a word or essay limit?
Each service includes review of or coaching on either a UC application essay, a Common Application essay, or a supplemental essay—up to 1000 words. For the Common Application Essay, the "Why this college?" essay is included for one college only. Students with multiple essays for different schools may enroll for a second program at a discounted rate. For example, a student who is writing essays for a UC and a Common Application college will purchase two separate services, and get the other one at a discount. A discount coupon will be issued to you after your first purchase.
What is your privacy policy?
iAdmissions takes your privacy seriously, and will keep all essays strictly confidential. When we partner with schools or institutions, we share data about relevant students with these partners. In addition, we reserve the right to release aggregate data provided this information is not personally identifiable.
How do I use my promotional code?
If you have received a promotional code, simply apply this code at the time of order. We only accept one promotional code per order.
I am with a school or organization (youth-related, non-profit, religious, etc.), and am interested in partnering with you. Where can I find details about this?
Please contact us at (800) 957-9620, and we will provide information about our partnership program.
How do I contact you?
Your use of our online support helps keep our service prices as low as possible. Please contact us via our online form (Click Contact Us). We will respond to all online questions and feedback within one business day.
What is your refund policy?
We offer refunds, less a $49 registration fee, subject to certain conditions. Please read our Refund Policy here.
I am interested in having a specific counselor review my essay. Is this possible?
Because of the expected demand for our service, we are unable to take specific counselor requests. We will, however, introduce counselor specific requests in the future. Because our services start immediately, it is not possible to change a specific counselor after enrollment.
How do you assess customer satisfaction?
All students receive a survey about one month after enrollment, which we use to assess satisfaction, collect suggestions for improvement, and compile testimonials. Students who complete the survey will be automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a $25 American Express gift card.
