1. What are your counselors' qualifications?
iAdmissions
UC Readiness Assessment Counselors have BOTH High School Guidance
Counseling experience AND UC Admissions experience.
iAdmissions
requires its counselors to possess both a Masters in College Counseling
and CA State High School Counseling Certification to ensure that all
coursework diagnosis and recommendation is given in strict accordance
with current CA and UC Curriculum Standards. iAdmissions counselors
undergo a rigorous qualification process to verify their credentials
and experience, and utilize only CA and UC approved resources for
course recommendation and research.
iAdmissions
also requires its counselors to have at least 3 years of recent UC
Admissions experience at a Top UC campus (UCLA, UC Berkeley, or UCSD).
This requirement ensures that your iAdmissions counselor has read at
least 1,000 applications and has received the most up-to-date UC
admissions training from a Top UC campus. In knowing that your
iAdmissions counselor has reviewed the best UC applicants in the last 3
years, you can confidently integrate your counselor's Activity and
Testing diagnosis and recommendations into your college-planning
strategy.
2. How much feedback can I expect?
The
iAdmissions UC Readiness Assessment Report includes diagnosis and
personalized recommendations for Academic Coursework, Activities, and
Testing, as well as a holistic analysis of your application profile
based on your counselor's professional experience.
3. Can I just get help from my high school counselor?
Your
high school counselor should be familiar with the UC application
requirements, but only a counselor with UC Reading and Admissions
experience can give you an accurate analysis of your potential for
admission to the campus of your choice. The iAdmissions Counseling
Staff is comprised of readers and admissions officers with years of UC
training on how coursework, activities, and test scores factor into
your holistic score. Our staff members are actively involved in the UC
Admissions Community, and have access to the most up to date applicant
data and admissions policies.
The
iAdmissions UC Readiness Assessment is the best way to get a sense for
your credentials relative to the current CA state-wide competition you
will face during the UC admissions process. Since iAdmissions
counselors have seen what it currently takes to gain admission to the

4. Can I ask questions about my Assessment report?
Once
you receive your report you will have 5 days to read over the
counselor's diagnosis and recommendations and post questions to your
message board. Within 48
hours of submitting a question you'll receive a detailed response from
your iAdmissions counselor. Because you will utilize the iAdmissions UC
Readiness Assessment to help you boost the attractiveness of your
application profile, your counselors will clarify any questions you may
have about the nature of their recommendations.
5. I'm only a Sophomore, is it too early to get an assessment?
UC
Admissions Officers focus primarily on the courses and activities you
engaged in during Sophomore and Junior year. Given how competitive UC
admissions are, it's absolutely critical that students be strategic
about their coursework and how they dedicate their time and energy
outside of the classroom. With a finite amount of time and resources, students should maximize their profiles according to their individual goals and the current competitive climate at the Top UC campuses.

6. What are the security features of your service? How can I be sure my confidential information is safe?
Your
online security is an absolute priority for iAdmissions. Your counselor
is the only person authorized to access your account information.
iAdmissions administrative personnel will not be allowed to access your account unless it is for an authorized investigation on customer service related issue. Under no circumstances will your account information be made available to any outside parties.
7. How do you make Course Recommendations?
The
course recommendations you receive will be based on the coursework you
still need to complete to meet the UC A-G Requirements. You will also
receive course recommendations for additional courses available at your
high school, at a local community college, and online that will enhance
the competitiveness of your Academic Record. Having seen the the types
of supplemental courses that UC Admissions officers esteem, your
iAdmissions counselor will make personalized recommendations based on
your desired campuses and majors. Your course recommendations will only be accredited and transferable courses approved by your high school and the UC system.

iAdmissions UC Readiness Assessment Activity recommendations are

and strategic extracurricular endeavors. With hundreds of clubs and
organizaitons to sort through, find out which are the most relevant to
your desired campuses and majors, and which are well-known within UC
Admissions Committees. Make sure your activities demonstrate your
potential for leadership and genuine dedication to improving your
community, as well as reflect your unique academic goals and ability to
contribute to the diversity of your desired campus.

9. How do you make Testing Recommendations?
Testing
Recommendations are based on several factors, including PSAT and PLAN
scores, score breakdowns from previous tests, the majors and campuses
the student is interested in, grades in relevant courses, and
statistics from the student's high school's performance on standardized
tests. All testing recommendations are given ensure that a student's
standardized test choices reflect her individual skill set, learning
style, and collegiate goals.
10. Can I make comments about the Academic, Activities, and Testing Information I'm inputting?
There
is room after each area of assessment for students to include their
personal questions and comments about their information. The
iAdmissions UC Readiness Counselors will address all of a students
questions and comments in their final Assessment.
